Last week we heard that the US state of Montana has become the first state to ban TikTok for everyone, not just limiting access for government employees like many other states.
Straight out comes the question, how would that work? And how will that even be enforced? Can’t a local resident just download it in another state and then come home and use it? And what about the legality of the ban, would it be held in court?
Montana’s governor tweeted that the ban is “To protect Montanans’ personal and private data from the Chinese Communist Party…” a statement which is likely to have further implications on the already murky US-China relationship.
