A fire erupted on Tuesday morning at a café located on the third floor of Park Centre, situated at the intersection of Park Street and Camac Street, in close proximity to Allen’s Park. The blaze began around 10:35 am at the rooftop café within the building. Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities or injuries thus far.Efforts to combat the fire involve 14 fire tenders diligently at work. Additionally, a disaster management team is working to ensure that no individuals are trapped within the structure.

As a result of the incident, traffic on sections of Park Street and Camac Street was closely regulated. Priyabrata Roy, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division) of the Calcutta Police, confirmed that the building was unoccupied when the fire broke out.

To prevent further damage, neighboring buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Cooking cylinders from within the restaurant were swiftly removed from the vicinity of the flames.

The incident caused panic among office-goers, who gathered on the road awaiting clearance from the police and fire brigade.
