Quincy Brown is stepping into the spotlight at a time when his stepfather, Diddy, is all over the news cycle. Ironically, the latest comments by Brown to catch some traction are about his relationship with his biological dad, Al B. Sure.
Quincy Suggests He’s Bonding With Al B. Sure!
Quincy opened up to Angela Yee on ‘Lip Service’ about where he stands with Al B. Spoiler alert: The 33-year-old suggested his dad’s storytelling is missing a lil’ bit of context!
“We cool now, just talked to him a couple days ago, he was congratulating me on the album. But this isn’t, I think we got a cool relationship. He tends to try and do the dad thing a lot but it’s like that’s not really where we’re at in life. We’re homies, more than anything. We’re like let’s go do something, and I feel like that where we’re getting at now. We’re two, grown men, we can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else.”
For context, Yee kicked off the father-son topic after asking Quincy whether his public letter to his dad sparked reconciliation. In 2020, Brown shared an open letter about his biological father’s absence from his life and how Diddy has been his “father figure.”
“Sean Combs is the person whom I look up to and appreciate as a father. He is the one who helped mold me into the person I am today and I will always try to live up to his expectations. He has always been supportive of me and I will forever love and respect him,” Quincy wrote in his letter. “As far as my biological father goes, the ‘spitting image’ is all I have taken from him. Throughout my life, I’ve always wondered about him: Where he was? What was he doing? and most importantly, Was he even thinking about me? The absence of my father has given me a better understanding of what type of man I am going to be. I am grateful for my mom’s love, support, guidance, and for her strength.”
In the interview with Yee, Quincy Brown also shared that Russell Simmons was who inspired him to open up to his dad.

Al B. Recently Pleaded With His Son To “Come Home”
As previously reported, in March, Al B. Sure publicly offered Quincy Brown support after the feds raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami. In his plea, Al told his son he’d be “safe” with him.
Since the raids, five more people have filed lawsuits against Sean Combs, totaling ten since Cassie aired him out last November.

Additionally, Combs is in federal custody on three charges involving racketeering and sex trafficking. Those raids led to a slew of evidence cited in the indictment documents, including weapons and at least 1,000 bottles of baby oil. Furthermore, federal prosecutors are accusing Diddy of having a persistent pattern of verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse “toward women and other individuals.”
The FBI arrested Sean Combs on Monday (Sept. 16) in New York City, and a judge remanded him for pre-trial detention the following day. His lawyer is expected to argue his appeal on Wednesday to a different judge.
Justin Combs, Quincy Combs, and their brother Christian Combs were spotted arriving at the courthouse ahead of the arraignment.
