A Louisiana rapper is reportedly suing Quavo for allegedly ripping off his 2015 track. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, rapper Lamount London, also known as L.Mont, claims he opened for 2Chainz and the Migos at New Orleans’ Saenger Theatre back in February 2016.
Details About Music Lawsuit Against Quavo
After the show, London says he handed Quavo a CD featuring his track, ‘Bubble Gum,’ a bouncy record with a NOLA vibe that he recorded in 2015. Furthermore, Lamount London states he never heard back from Quavo after that.
However, HotNewHipHop reports that two years later, Quavo released his debut studio album, ‘Quavo Huncho.’ London immediately noticed a track titled, ‘Bubble Gum’ and believed it mirrored his own. The artist claims the lyrics, arrangement, and melody are his original work and is now seeking damages.
As of now, neither Quavo nor his team has made any public comments regarding the allegations.
