In addition to the Premier model, Tecno also unveiled three more Camon 30 members – a Pro 5G model, a 5G model and a vanilla 4G model.
Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G
Like the Premier, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 8200 Ultra. It even has the same 50MP 1/1.56” sensor in the main camera (which also boasts OIS), 50MP ultra wide and 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. However, the 3x periscope is gone, replaced by a 2MP depth sensor.
While the Pro doesn’t have an LTPO display like the Premier, its own panel is still quite good – its basically the same size at 6.78” and it has 144Hz refresh rate. The resolution at 1,080 x 2,436px.
The phone runs on a 5,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging, same as the Premier. It also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. There’s an IR blaster on top.
Tecno Camon 30 5G
The Tecno Camon 30 5G drops down to a Dimensity 7020 chipset, a refresh of the 930. It seems like this chip can’t drive the 6.78” display at 144Hz refresh rate, so it settles for 120Hz. It’s still an FHD+ AMOLED panel, however.
At least the phone gets to keep the 50MP selfie camera with autofocus lens – and here it even has a dual color temperature flash. As for the rear cameras, there is a different 50MP sensor in the main (1/1.57”) and optical image stabilization. However, there isn’t even an ultra wide, just a pair of low resolution helpers.
The phone does maintain some of the other features of the more premium models, however. This includes the 5,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging and the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Even the IR remote control feature is still on board.
Tecno Camon 30
The Tecno Camon 30 is basically the same as the 5G model, except that it uses the Helio G99 chipset, which only offers 4G connectivity. The 6.78” FHD+ AMOLED display runs at the same 120Hz and you get the same 5,000mAh/70W battery and Atmos-enabled stereo speakers.
Unfortunately, this means that the camera situation is the same too – 50MP AF with flash on the front, 50MP OIS on the back and that’s it.
This model has NFC, unlike its siblings, which is an odd difference, but it is an advantage in favor of the vanilla Camon 30.
Note that all three models have two versions – one with a glass back and one with a vegan leather back.
