The oath-taking ceremony of N. Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh witnessed a touching moment when Prime Minister Narendra Modi embraced him in a long hug and gave him a pat on the back. This gesture, full of warmth and camaraderie, symbolized a moment of unity and support within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).Naidu’s emotional moment with PM Modi came after he took oath for the fourth time as the CM of Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in his political career. The ceremony, held on June 6, 2024, was attended by a host of political leaders and celebrities, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Chief JP Nadda, and Tollywood actors like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and Ram Charan.

Naidu’s return to power comes after a long wait of five years, during which he remained determined to reclaim his position as the CM. His victory in the recent assembly elections, where the TDP-led alliance secured an overwhelming majority, paved the way for his comeback.

It was just few years back, in 2021, when Naidu broke down at a press conference, accusing YSR Congress MLAs of making inappropriate and personal comments about his wife, and vowed to return to Andhra assembly as a CM.

“This is a dharma poratam (just battle) against the atrocious rule of the YSRC. I will go to the people and seek their support. If people co-operate, I will strive to save the state,” he had said.

The ceremony was not only a celebration of Naidu’s political resurgence but also a symbol of unity within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other NDA leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP Chief JP Nadda, graced the occasion, showcasing their support for Naidu and the TDP.

The grand comeback of Naidu, who had vowed to return to power after facing personal attacks, was a moment of triumph for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief. His victory in the state assembly elections, where the TDP-led alliance secured a landslide victory, was a testament to his unwavering commitment to serving the people of Andhra Pradesh.

As Naidu moved away from the dais towards PM Modi, he shook hands with the Prime Minister, who then presented him with a bouquet. What followed was a long hug, accompanied by a pat on the back, as Naidu turned emotional. The crowd, meanwhile, continued to chant his name, reflecting the overwhelming support and adulation he enjoys among the people of Andhra Pradesh.The oath-taking ceremony was not just a political event but a momentous occasion that marked the beginning of a new chapter for Andhra Pradesh.
