Delhi IGI Airport’s T3 terminal reportedly faced a power outage lasting nearly 20 minutes. According to reports, the outage led to a complete stoppage of boarding and check-in services. Several passengers on social media reported that no counters or Digi Yatra facilities were working for nearly half an hour. The outage was reportedly due to a fault in the airport’s power grid. Later, the electricity supply was restored, and all operations resumed normally.

Passenger Siddharth expressed his frustration on social media, highlighting the severity of the situation: “T3 terminal #delhi #airport totally chocked due to power failure! No counter, No digi yatra, nothing functioning. This is shocking.”

Responding promptly, Delhi Airport acknowledged Siddharth’s concerns and assured passengers they are addressing the issue: “Dear Siddharth, We certainly do not wish to provide such an experience to our flyers. We’ve duly noted your feedback and have shared the same with the concerned team to look into it.”

Delhi Airport also clarified that despite the disruption, flight operations remained unaffected and proceeded according to schedule. The Digi Yatra system, which facilitates paperless travel, automatically rebooted following a change in the power supply. Additionally, the boarding pass counters were equipped with UPS power backup systems to mitigate such incidents.

Furthermore, it was emphasized that the entire IGI Delhi Airport is supported by DG (Diesel Generator) backup systems, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply for up to 2-3 hours during emergencies.Delhi is currently facing peak power demand due to severe heat wave conditions in North India. Last week, areas in East Delhi faced a massive power outage due to a fire at a power station.
