Fremont Ave. by Reggie D. White, has officially open, with a red carpet hosted by South Coast Repertory on Friday, May 1, on the Segerstrom Stage.
The sold-out, world premiere evening celebrated one of the most dynamic and creative minds in American Theatre, and featured appearances from the Fremont Ave. cast members and business leaders of the community. Among them were Bradley Gibson (“Partner Track” on Netflix, Simba on Broadway in The Lion King) and Emmy Award-winner Kevin Mambo (Book of Mormon National Tour, “Guiding Light, “Hit & Run,” “High Maintenance,” “The Good Doctor,” “Blacklist,” “Happyish,” “Soul Food,” “One Life to Live,” “Law & Order,” “Spin City” and “Elementary). Also featured is Marcus Henderson (Get Out, Django Unchained, Pete’s Dragon and “The Lincoln Lawyer”), Los Angeles and NAACP Orange County Branch President Deirdre Harris.

FREMONT AVE.. brings to life three generations of Black men bound together by the woman at the center of their world. Directed by Lili-Anne Brown, this new play by Reggie D. White runs April 25 through May 23 on the Segerstrom Stage. It is also one of the anchor productions of the 2026 Pacific Playwrights Festival.
