JEREMY WORRIED ABOUT THE WIND is a short, sweet, musical story about a young boy suffering from abandonment issues and anxiety.

It’s not heavy!

Sure, mom can probably blame herself just a tiny bit for telling her son how the father he’s never met, left their lives. On an airplane, one day.  Hence, I suspect, Jeremy’s fear of wind. And therapy isn’t helping either of them.

He keeps a list!

Seven-year-old Jeremy is an expert in danger, cataloging his worries from spotted bananas to sudden breezes. But then he meets Maggie, the new girl at school. And between her own whirlwind energy, and a gale that launches him into his own tempest, he is able to face his fears.

The entire cast of JEREMY WORRIED ABOUT THE WIND, commits so beautifully, 100% to the silliness and the story here. Liz Richter (Mom) is vocally exceptional for this little production. And though, at times, the adults in the room (myself, namely) might long for a few less anxious bars (musical measures), the kids seemed to love it.  Honestly, it’s adorable, and all the hyperbole you could muster for a kids show.  And it moves quickly…plus, plus.

About the Project

Seven-year-old Jeremy is a world-class expert in “serious danger.” To stay safe, he maintains a meticulously cataloged notebook of 672… wait, 673 worries, ranging from spotted bananas and soggy socks to the terrifying prospect of shoe-sole-eating earthworms. While his mother, Ellie, does her best to support him, Jeremy’s rigid world is built on one simple rule: never take a risk.

That all changes when he meets Maggie. Maggie is a whirlwind in her own right – she doesn’t believe in skipping sidewalk cracks! When Jeremy gets caught in a gale while playing outside he becomes engulfed in a high-flying musical adventure across the far corners of the earth.
